Protect Your Future...Now!

  • Choices you may have previously ruled out: Motorcycle, electric scooter, bicycle, and the new Neighborhood Vehicles, (vastly improved golf carts).

  • How many expensive and complex options can you skip on your car or truck?

  • Moving the elimination of a commute to the top of your list.

  • Vehicles chosen for simplicity and ironically better financial value. A 1955 Chevy sedan or aging VW Bug may cost you less to maintain and hold their value far better than many new cars. But if you plan to drive older cars think about access to parts and a mechanic you can rely on.

  • In truth, most modern cars and trucks have approximately the same maintenance records. But models that have been consistently popular such as the Toyota Camry are more likely to have a more durable stream of replacement parts due to their greater numbers. Most dealers do not stock any part unless there is almost daily demand.

  • Can your car be fixed by a shade tree mechanic?

  • Bicycle, bicycle, bicycle. Hands down the best transportation for its high health values and sheer practicality. If the seat and riding position are not truly comfortable you won’t ride your bike. Take plenty of time to get it feeling good. Don’t listen too carefully to all those young men in the bike shops who often don’t know how to accommodate an older person. BTW,  ride on sidewalks when you need to. Some rules are meant to be broken.

  • Consider using an RV as your main home. It’s already happening in America. While PYFNOW can’t endorse purchasing gas hog RV’s it’s a coming reality for many retirees and even some families with children.
